Did you know that houseplants act as air purifiers? Plants remove excess carbon dioxide and toxins from the atmosphere and give off oxygen. Try adding some houseplants to your home or office this winter. Here are some to try:
- Palm
- Dracaena
- Sanservia
- Pothos
- Boston fern
- Ivy
- Peace Lily
- Spider plant
Houseplants generally like bright light (but not direct sun) and medium moisture. Keep house plants away from cold drafts or heat sources. During the winter months, water a little less frequently and refrain from fertilizing. This allows houseplants a period of ‘rest’. Begin fertilizing and watering more often in March when plants are naturally ready to grow again. Mist plants weekly, especially during the dry winter months.
